Upload Failed : You uploaded a debuggable APK

It was quite late in the evening and I was about to wrap up my work. Suddenly I got a call form my client in Skype and he shared his concerns of uploading the build to production. Although it was late, I thought to help him before I close the day, since that guy is in the middle of his day time (in US). Now mind set is to spend time on the issue. I started looking into the issue.

The issue is, while he (my client) started uploading the APK file into the Android store, he is receiving the below rejection message from the store.

Device Administration API in Android

Device Admin API is basically used for the access of the device at the administrative level. Like accessing the device password, disabling the device camera, limiting the size of the password, setting the maximum failed attempt for the password, erasing all the data of the device etc.

It basically is implemented with the use of three classes named as below,

DeviceAdminReceiver

DevicePolicyManager

DeviceAdminInfo

The first and the foremost thing you need to do is create the MyDeviceAdminReciever.java class obviously after creating a new project and the MyDeviceAdminReceiver class should extend the DeviceAdminReciever class. The DeviceAdminReceiver class is the base class for implementing the DeviceAdminApi and in the app must contain its subclass.

CRUD operation in PhoneGap application using SQLite Database

Data passing in multiple screens from one activity to another using Xamarin in Android

Introduction :-
In this Article, we will see how to create multiple screens in Android using Xamarin and pass data between them.
Android applications consist of a set of loosely coupled screens, represented by Activity classes.
Since each Activity is essentially decoupled from others, there needs to be a way to launch them and optionally pass data to them. On Android this is accomplished using Intents.

Intents are the classes that describe a message, both what the desired action of the message is and a data payload to send along with it. They are commonly used within applications to launch Activities. To launch a new Activity, we create a new Intent, set the Context and the Activity class to launch and then tell the OS to handle the Intent, which launches the Activity. Continue reading

Getting geo-coordinates from address in PhoneGap application using Google API

Introduction:
In this post we will discover the use of Google API to get the latitude and longitude by passing the address/location in PhoneGap application.

Description:
It is very easy to get the geographic coordinates (latitude & longitude) from a particular address using Google API. Google API exposes Geocoder() method which takes the address as input parameter and returns the geometry.location as output. We can parse the geometry.location to get the latitude and longitude value.

Here is the code snippets to get the latitude and longitude value from specific address. Continue reading
